About Us

R.B. and his family have lived in Cypress for 15 years. They have a home filled with pets and often have found many lost pets for their neighbors. When they have lost a pet in the past they would do what many of us do, make flyers and  place them at intersections (which are often non-legible or ruined by rain) and at business locations throughout the community. This takes much effort but more importantly it loses valuable time. After one such occasion, R.B. decided there has to be a better way.

There are generally three ways to find a lost pet.

1 )    The above, which takes much time and effort and is hit or miss.
2)     Informal e-mail chains from pet lovers. (Yes, we are glad to work with anyone
desiring to find lost pets.) This is good because pet lovers are very concerned and
loyal. But the neighborhood coverage may be limited.
3)     Then there are also very expensive services on the the internet to find lost pets.

So Cypress Lost Pet Alert was formed to come up with what we believe is a quicker and cost free solution. It is quick because it's one call, it's free and we hope it provides greater neighborhood coverage. Which is why we depend on many Good Neighbors to provide as many "eyes" for lost pets as possible.

Pet owners should feel free to do what they can to find their lost pet. But in the mean time, call us so we can quickly get the word out to your Good Neighbors.

Also, the SPCA suggest the following on finding lost pets.

A "lost" dog will tend to travel into the oncoming wind. This should be your
       first direction of search.

Most "lost" cats tend to stay in the general vicinity from which they disappeared.
It is rare that they would wander out of the immediate neighborhood, unless
perhaps, they were recently moved. Be patient and creative in your search.

We are always wanting to improve, so please e-mail with your suggestions.
